Today’s topic is: What Sci-Fi/Fantasy book you’d like to visit (and why)
I read a lot of urban fantasy, so it's mostly set in the real world but with that little bit of a fantasy/magical twist. Part of me wishes I could still say I wanted to live in the world of Harry Potter, post-defeat of Voldemort but I can't bring myself to say that anymore, even though that would have been my answer for years. Narnia would definitely be an option, in the Golden Age.
But I think my answer is going to be Rivers Of London. I'm re-reading the books right now and falling back in love with the London that Ben Aaronovitch created. I would really love to meet the river goddesses and learn magic from Nightingale.
The New Ways November is to 'respond to a difficult situation in a different way' and this is something I actually did in work today. I won't normally blog about that because boring!, however since it fits this prompt so perfectly, it seems right. I have been having a lot of difficulty getting a manager to sign off on some invoices so I can get them paid, and usually I would get annoyed and frustrated and end up quite angry. But today I took the time to sit down with him, go through each invoice, explain what I needed and why. Part of me was still frustrated because I shouldn't have to do that, but it ended up being very productive and I'm hoping will go smoother. And my manager said I was amazing for doing it, which also felt good!
